At SportyPie (referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”), we respect the intellectual property rights of others and are committed to complying with the principles of copyright law, including the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This policy outlines our procedures for addressing alleged copyright infringement on our website.
Our Commitment to Copyright
We strive to ensure that all content published on SportyPie is either our original work, used with permission, or falls within the scope of fair use. We expect our users and contributors to do the same.

Our Procedure Upon Receiving a Notification of Claimed Infringement
Once we receive a valid and properly submitted notification of alleged copyright infringement, our procedures will typically include the following:
- Review and Assessment: We will carefully review your notification to ensure that it meets the requirements outlined above.
- Removal or Disabling of Access: If we determine, in our sole discretion, that the reported material may be infringing, we will promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content.
- Notification to the Alleged Infringer (if possible): We may attempt to notify the user or contributor who posted the allegedly infringing material, providing them with a copy of your notification and information about our actions.
- Repeat Infringer Policy: While the DMCA is a US law, we aim to discourage repeat infringements of copyright. Depending on the circumstances, we may take appropriate action, which could include terminating the accounts of repeat offenders (if applicable to user-generated content, which is not the primary function of SportyPie at this time).
Counter-Notification Procedure
If you believe that material you posted on SportyPie was removed or access to it was disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification with our designated DMCA Agent. To be effective, your counter-notification must include the following information:
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or access to it was disabled. Please provide the specific URL or other identifying information.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification of the material to be removed or disabled.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or if your address is outside of the United States, for any judicial district in which the service provider may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided notification under subsection (c)(1)(C) or an agent of such person.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may forward it to the party who submitted the original DMCA notification. The DMCA allows the complaining party to then seek a court order to restrain you from engaging in the allegedly infringing activity. If we do not receive notice that such a court order has been sought within ten (10) business days after forwarding your counter-notification, we may, in our sole discretion, reinstate the removed material or cease disabling access to it.
Please Note: Filing a false notification of claimed infringement or a counter-notification may have legal consequences.
